As the Census Bureau figures demonstrated in the other thread, California leads the nation in functional poverty with a 20.4% rate -- far above any red state. So California leads the nation both in income inequality and poverty. Both at rates which are unimaginable in most western nations or U.S. states.
Functional poverty is a factor in ALL rich states, the only way to avoid that kind of poverty which comes with wealth and people immigrating to take advantage of wealthy states is to become a poor red state where people don't want to go.
