Joe Biden is old and underestimated. I can’t think of a candidate then President that came in with such an underdog persona that kept exceeding expectations.
Theres a lot of truth to what you’re saying. The bar was placed so low for Biden and continues to be placed so low - and most of it comes from the right wing - that it’s hard for him to not exceed expectations.
I will say I supported Biden because: He is not Trump. He is a moderate (at least compared to other Democrats who ran). It would be a stretch to say I am enthusiastic about Biden. It will be a complete stretch to claim that I will support all of his policies (or even many of them). At least he is sane and not an over-the-top narcissist. With Biden's stay in the basement campaign in the COVID era --- it is understandable that it appears the bar was set low for expectations.
The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll, for Wednesday shows that 48% of Likely U.S. Voters approve of President Biden’s job performance. Forty-eight percent (48%) disapprove.
I think the campaign was smart. He knew that anything he said would turn the narrative towards him instead of it staying on trump and his failure as a president.
