AP ADMITS COVERING UP OBAMA'S 'GULF' GAFFE During his Wednesday appearance on Jay Leno's "Tonight Show,' President Obama made three factual gaffes; one of them involved the claim that cities not found along the Gulf of Mexico are. Were Obama a Republican, these gaffes would have led news coverage for the next forty-eight hours. Not only did most of the media ignore or downplay these gaffes; the Associated Press went so far as to cover one of them up. In its coverage Thursday, rather than point out the president's geographical error, the wire service made it look as though no error was made. Here is how the AP memory-holed the gaffe: Obama did not say "and in." The AP did it for him. Today, buried in its correction section, the AP owned up to covering for the president: The media not reporting on or making an issue of an Obama gaffe has become the norm over the last five years. The other day i actually saw two clowns on NBC chortling as they played a clip of Romney saying that russia was our biggest geo political foe, and obama replying saying "the 80's just called they want their foreign policy back." Both of the reporters laughed because they skewered Romney over his supposed gaffe, at the time, then they asked, "With Putin making a laughing stock of Obama does what Romney said now hold true?" Must be nice to be a genius like obama who has a lapdog media willing to accept that S.C. backs the Gulf of Mexico, and the U.S. has 57 states, It's a good thing we have unbiased sources like NPR, and propublica to hold Obama's feet to the fire, and get to the bottom of these issues. Instead, the media manufacture narratives around those they wish to elevate and those they wish to destroy. This is how the media promotes Democrats and attempts to marginalize Republicans. But the only time that wall goes up is when it comes to reporting on Obama's Leno gaffes. Otherwise, we regularly see "Saturday Night Live" mocking Republicans all over NBC News.
