Trump lawyers keep making 'embarrassing' requests: 'I don’t think they have any shame' https://www.rawstory.com/trump-fraud-trial-2666458856/
You need to stay away from Rawstory generated headlines In the story they say "observers laughed out loud" (who do they mean? ) such rhetorical writing. If you were in trumps seat you would want your lawyers to do everything they can to win And this will all play to the appeal..... Donald Trump's lawyers keep making long-shot bids to end his New York fraud trial, and observers have laughed at loud at their far-fetched efforts. Justice Arthur Engoron, the judge who's presiding over the case, has already found Trump liable for fraud in a summary judgment before the proceedings started, but the former president's legal team has asked three separate times for a "directed verdict," which would end the case in his favor and almost never works, reported The Daily Beast. “Three times is excessive," said retired state judge Carolyn E. Demarest. "I think they're just taking a shot in the dark here. It just sounds like a ‘Hail Mary’ pass."
Just Trump filing another motion to delay the case -- claiming he will proceed as if the judge has no authority over him. This should go over real well. Once again a court rules that Trump needs to stop intimidating the witnesses and court staff in his trial. A federal appeals court largely upheld a gag order on Donald Trump in his election case in Washington but narrowed its terms. The ruling, issued by a three-judge panel of the court, permits Mr. Trump to directly criticize Jack Smith, the special counsel who has filed two indictments against him. The special counsel in Donald Trump’s election case asked the Supreme Court to decide if he is immune from prosecution, urging unusual speed. The request was unusual in two ways: Jack Smith asked the justices to rule before an appeals court acted, and he urged them to move with exceptional speed. The former president’s trial is scheduled to begin on March 4. Monday, December 11, 2023 1:16 PM ET https://www.nytimes.com/2023/12/11/us/politics/trump-supreme-court-immunity-election-case.html
Follow-up: Supreme Court: Trump must respond to special counsel’s presidential immunity petition before Christmas The Court’s next scheduled conference day for consideration is Jan. 5, 2024 https://www.foxnews.com/politics/su...nsel-presidential-immunity-petition-christmas The Supreme Court has indicated it will expedite consideration of a petition by special counsel Jack Smith on whether former President Donald Trump can be prosecuted on charges he plotted to overturn the 2020 election results. Smith made his request for the court to act with unusual speed to prevent any delays that could push back the trial of the 2024 Republican presidential primary front-runner, currently set to begin March 4, until after next year's presidential election. The Court has asked Trump’s lawyers to respond to the motion by next Wednesday, December 20 – two days later than Smith had requested. The Court’s next scheduled conference day for consideration of such matters is Jan. 5, 2024. This is a developing story. Check back for update
Trump should say what he always say ''I didn't swear an oath to protect the constitution.'' Jack Smith's 'brilliant move' has Trump 'very, very worried': ex-White House spokesman Former President Donald Trump's White House communications director complimented special counsel Jack Smith Monday after the federal prosecutor managed to get the Supreme Court to agree to expedite the process of determining Trump's immunity. Anthony Scaramucci — Trump's communications director — was talking with CNN's Kaitlan Collins. "I'm curious what you think is, kind of, going through Donald Trump's head right now," Collins asked Scaramucci. "As Jack Smith is here surprising everyone by going past the appeals court, going straight to the Supreme Court, and basically trying to cut off Trump's known strategy of delaying his legal troubles." Scaramucci replied, "I think it's a brilliant move by Jack. But if you really want to get inside the president's mind, he's very, very worried. “You've got 91 counts, four big indictments. It feels like he is the Al Capone of our current political system, meaning people think he's untouchable, just like they did with Al Capone or somebody like John Gotti, but they actually are not untouchable. “ So, he's very, very worried. I do know that he thinks because he appointed … three of those justices, but he has six that are conservatives, I do think that he thinks he's got a good shot there. He thinks that that court is politicized and will tip to his favor.
