I have to agree, switching from AlQuaeda tapes to the Virginia Tech nutcase murderer is quite a leap. This doctoring of tapes sounds plausible, not CT like government blowing up twin towers. The movie Wag the Dog comes to mind just a little bit. I do get a bit tired of everything, everywhere, being linked to AlQuaeda and OBL. That in itself seems a bit like manufacturing or associating mis-information with real events. The fact that no one knows anything for sure these days, it's like trying to prove or disprove religion. c
And there's the problem. You CTer's are so busy thinking you have to do all the thinking for everyone else, you don't take the time to think for yourselves. If you did, think for yourselves, you wouldn't spend so much time chasing ghosts. How's that been workin' for ya'?
Is there a real big difference between CT's who believe the gov't is responsible for all these terrible things and believing that AlQuaeda is stronger than ever and we should be very afraid? It just seems to me that both are a bit extreme, and that the truth is very likely in the middle. c
it's what analysts concluded for they are experts and as such can determine what took place during the production and editing of the tapes. they couldn't have cared the less if they found the tapes to be genuine and legitimate..nor could they have had any motive to risk their reputation and concoct evidence to support conspiracies theories. so, as product of experts in their own fields the study commands a certain authority. these folks are professionals and first and foremost stay focused on the analysis and the discoveries it yields rather than preoccupy themselves with partisan politics or conspiracies. i am curious though what you find more amazing.... that USA funded and supported alqciaida and recruited OBL, code-name 'tim osman', to play a role within the intelligence agency.... or the idea that the tapes have been doctored?...
Yes, I know you'd like that, just like those in charge; they don't really like intelligent ppl, thinking for themselves and constantly shooting holes in the overcomplicated tricks. Ursa..
I agree with that, but the problem is that even this 'middle' would be so far from the official story and so devastating for the confidence of the ppl in their government that it still would be off-limits for the IS. You might notice that the so-called CT'ers are investigating all levels and amounts of un-conformity with the official line, while the so-called IS only accept this official line. They don't even allow for the possibility of foulplay by their rulers, which I find in itself already very odd and naive. Ursa..
Yes, just today I was thinking how many people were really thinking that a collapsed bridge in a very random, non-symbolic place might be a terrorist attack. I know I didn't. But, sure enough, officials came on stage and proclaimed "that this was not a terrorist attack". It seems each everyday event is usefull to whip up the feeling of distrust and urgency, needed to pass yet another bill to spend more on war and/or remove an another essential part of the Constitution. I thought it was necessary to do. Given that this was a nationally-carried media story and Al Qaeda's declared intention to attack us again, it was proper IMO. It's always a Catch-22 with the CTers. Do as the government did in this situation, and they are stoking fears so as to "whip up" support for another spending bill. Had the government been quiet, other CTers would have said, "Hey! The government didn't make any kind of announcement on this! Must have been because they're the ones that blew up the bridge!! Watch! Pretty soon they'll blame it on the terrorists!"
Maybe you're right. I just didn't have the impression people were really worried it was a terrorist attack. My point is, shouldn't it be the task of the government to gradually dercrease the level of unrest and return to a sort-of normal every-day lifestyle. Then the terrorists have lost Instead, whenever this indeed seems to happen we are reminded by some official that there still is big danger or we are suddenly not allowed to take our waterbottle into the plane. Remember that 'Al Qaeda's declared intention' is what this thread is actually about. Maybe they didn't. Ursa..
