Amazon is offering its help to President Joe Biden with the rollout of COVID-19 vaccines, while seeking to get its employees inoculated "at the earliest appropriate time."

In a letter written to Biden and dated Wednesday, Amazon Worldwide Consumer CEO Dave Clark said the e-commerce giant is prepared to leverage its operations to help vaccinate 100 million Americans in the first 100 days of the president's administration.

"Our scale allows us to make a meaningful impact immediately in the fight against COVID-19, and we stand ready to assist you in this effort," wrote Clark.

The letter also calls for vaccinating Amazon employees, many of whom are essential workers, as soon as possible.

"The essential employees working at Amazon fulfillment centers, AWS data centers, and Whole Foods Market stores across the country who cannot work from home should receive the COVID-19 vaccine at the earliest appropriate time," writes Clark.

Amazon says they have an agreement with a licensed third-party occupational health care provider to offer vaccines to employees on site.

The online retail giant has served as a lifeline for many Americans since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, as people spent time quarantined and increasingly relied on home delivery.

To keep up with demand, Amazon launched several hiring rounds, most recently announcing in September it would hire 100,000 workers to meet the online holiday shopping surge.

Amazon offered President Biden resources to help the new administration in its vaccine effort, but former Trump officials claim the company never extended that assistance to former President Trump.

Amazon, just after Biden was sworn in as the 46th president of the United States, said they were “ready to assist” the new administration in meeting their goal to vaccinate 100 million Americans in the first 100 days of his administration.

  5. I wonder how many hundreds or thousands of people died from Covid who could have been vaccinated had Amazon made this offer sooner, rather than waiting for the Biden administration? Well, they were sacrificed for a greater good of pushing the Orange man bad narrative, so there is that.

We can't know. Because we can't know if Trump would have accepted the help.

But we do know what Trump has said about Bezos/Amazon, so it'd probably be a good guess that Trump wouldn't have wanted Amazon to take any credit away from Operation "Warp" Speed.

  9. So Trump telling Amazon to go fuck themselves is ok with you because AMAZON should have come begging Trump for assistance...

    Trump reaps what he sows...

The Trump administration rejected any involvement from Amazon previously.

They blacklisted Amazon from all federal government contracts. This is well documented.
