    Hey,
just wanted to list some of the alternatives to Fiat money.
If you know any more, feel free to post here.

    1) Real Estate
    2) Stocks
    3) Bonds
    4) Crypto (staking, yield farming)
    5) Metals
    6) Commodities
    7) Investing into Domain Names, Social Media Handles, or other prestige driven stuff
    8) Post stamps ;)
    9) Partial investment into closed Fonds (not being traded on exchanges)
    10) Direct investments into metaverse projects

Odd collection: metals, such as gold, have a 5,000-year history, & many use cases. Crypto, has been around for about 10 years, with no use case. Metaverse projects have almost no history, but if you wish to bet on the Zuch, you are free to do so, but don't think it is an alternative to fiats. Even if Metaverse is a success, the odds of picking even a handful of companies that will survive in 10-20 years is almost nil.

I don't think any of those are an alternative to fiat money.

Fiat money, which most of us are slaves of, have no alternatives.
They are globallly accepted for exchange, immediately, foreign exchange permitting.

To be able to eat, unless you produce your own food, you would first have to exchange any of those asset to fiat, then buy food.

Unless you are ready to swap your property, stocks, gold or else for essentials.
Doing that won't give you a good deal, and it would be a pointless losing game.

Maybe you are after some asset that can help with inflation of fiat, or make more fiat over time.

Not even crypto's, who are the closest thing to money and they are accepted by some at the same speed, are a realistic alternative to fiat.

  4. I was about to say Diamonds, gemstones, Rolexes, Art work, Drugs....but this is more of a Hollywood movie, bs, theme alternative to money.
None of these are liquid, at all. Good luck trying to sell them without getting fducked on the market value price, if you need to convert them to cash now.

There is no alternative to liquid cash, fiat money. Liquid cash, is liquid cash.
Everything else out there has transaction costs, market timing costs, planning, etc. etc.

There's no alternative to fiat. Bitcoin is trying to be but BTC's most devoted supporters are anarchist/libertarian types who are looking for a way to avoid paying taxes because they don't believe in government. In any case, BTC's best hope is as an alternative to gold or as the reference for the basket of currencies to be used by governments. But until the whales divest their holdings for the greater system to control it, it's going to remain whatever it is today.
