To you. A failed failure is just a breakout pullback. If the breakout pullback doesn't have follow-thru and then fails...that's 3 failures. On a smaller timeframe that's a double top/bottom. Some call that a micro-DT on the chart being traded.
If you say so, but the OP started this thread talking about interesting ideas Brooks has for scalping. That is one of them.
Failed failure sometimes work, but when it doesn't, you are getting stop out in both direction, depending on how large one's stop is, you might not have enough time to make up for the losses. In even more worst cases, sometimes market would just sit there poking highs and lows of the recent bar to form tight range, or it might finally breakout but retrace all the way back to the breakout area to hunt for those who bought the breakout. It is a fast way to blow an account. Very hard to distinguish if a failed failure is real or not. I am curious how would you trade the failed failure signal?

Good Evening pinabetal, Thanks for the update on Al Brooks trading live for a few days. Sounds lovely and I am sure this will be a great experience for anyone who study his course work. I believe this is a good thing. Thanks
Good Morning pinabetal, Yes, hopefully someone goes to the live trading event and can share insights and enjoy it. I think its a good experience to watch Al Brooks trade live. I can not attend, because the cost is a bit out of my budget, and too far of travel. There is another trader there name Ali who will be trading live as well. I read he is good trader as well. Cool beans!
