Or buy the $167.5 May call for $3 and sell, the $175 for $1.3 making a $7.5 call spread for $1.7. 7.5/1.7=4.4X and only has to get to $175 for max profit. I think, the sell-off, was overdone as it mints so much money they could reduce OS by 1/3rd but doesn't mean algos don't take it south on poor earnings. I have $175's so would love $180 but it's probably my smallest position at the moment.
A lot of strong tech earnings have not been able to hold onto their aftermarket gains. May coming, end of earnings approaching, what's left to hold up the market into a seasonally weak period? Interest rates going higher, midterm elections approaching, lots of variables. As far as Apple, I bet they do report great earnings, but is each successive iPhone really worth more and more money to the average person? Not sure. It's been a long time since Apple came up with an industry-changing new idea.
