I just saw this cover and thought, I know a few fellas who will remember it.

"From a Logical Point of View" was first performed by Trinidadian calypsonian The Mighty Sparrow (real name Slinger Francisco). Robert Mitchum then covered it in a similar style.

Some women I know will be hearing about them.

 

I remember reading years ago in James Clavell's Shogun that one of the key characters, probably Toranaga, who went on to become Shogun, said to Blackthorne, the protagonist, that a plain-looking wife made for a happier marriage. Something along those lines. I remember the remark giving me pause.

 

Toranaga's strategic and pragmatic mindset, which is a key part of his character throughout the novel.. We recently started watching the remake but I remember the original and book.

EDIT: What does "actively ugly" mean, exactly? Putting one's shoulder into it?

 

Well in the song he mentions cockeyed and bow legged with skin like an alligator.

 

Yeah, that's pretty active.

 

Hopefully the song has adjusted the MAGA to a happier eight years ahead. The British conservatives didn't think they could cope with Maggie and she became their Reagan.
