On one hand you are right. On the other hand, you will never have a 1000% return because you quit already at 500%. And who knows maybe the dude is right while holding to $1000 or whatever?
Because they are options, I suppose the question becomes...How much would he leave on the table were he to not close them out now, rather than by expiration? But that is options talk, and I know nothing of them.
He can sell a ladder spread, sell $1500 calls, the same number of contracts the same expiration, it would give him the same upside and some cash on his books...
The stock is up 100 bucks premarket!!! Since he has 47 contracts, that is 4700 x 100 = nearly half million bucks. For every 10 bucks stock movement he makes or loses 47K.
remember the option doesn't expire until 2021, at which point I think TSLA will be well above $1,000, It might seem like a lot but, when winning you have to hold until the last quarter, in life and trading...
