There's nothing deceptive about calling a Tesla Supercharger a Supercharger. It actually charges a lot faster than any other charger. Besides, no one thinks the charger contains an ICE so there's no possible way to confuse people. Porsche calling an EV "Turbo" would be like Mercedes slapping the V12 logo on every future S600 regardless of whether whatever is under hood has cylinders or not. Although, a while ago the model numbers of Mercedes / BMWs stopped corresponding to engine displacement.
A supercharger is a forced induction device, of course it's deceptive. Besides, no one thinks an EV porsche contains an ICE engine in it, so so there's no possible way to confuse people with the term "turbo".
We might just have seen the topping of the Tesla short squeeze. If so, this thread was a pretty good predictor. ATH so far is 735, surrently at 708.
I doubt that. In order to know that an EV would not contain a turbo, the average person would need to understand what a turbo does. I simply don't think they do. I don't think Tesla was trying to create a misleading name as superchargers are not that common, especially today. I doubt the average Tesla driver knows what a supercharger is. As I said, at least the Tesla supercharger is actually a charger unlike the Porsche EV "Turbo". What Porsche did was create a false distinction in the 911 line by labeling some cars "Turbo" even though they all have turbos...that is intentionally misleading. In all fairness, Porsche was not the first company to horribly abuse the word "Turbo" https://www.computerhope.com/jargon/t/turbo.htm My dish washer even has a "turbo mode". Anyhow, I have made my point and see no point in continuing this discussion. Believe what you wish.

What would happen if there was an earthquake near the Fremont plant?? Do they have all their eggs in one basket? Should TSLA build a second plant, maybe somewhere in the south (trucks, backup to Model 3). Haven't followed this company closely for about 6 months. Just talking out loud...
