I read that in the 1800's, and early 1900's the typical lumberjack in the west ate something close to 9000 calories per day.
its not impossible..... not even close to being impossible ..... i can post at least 6 pics of people who easily eat that in one day...... but they kinda dont look like Phelps. one dude on TV eats 33,000 per day...................... oh....... maybe you meant its impossible to burn that amount....... agree
no im not its easily done by the people that are over 800 lbs they eat greasy foods and sugar ladden snacks. http://tbn0.google.com/images?q=tbn...mosesnews/uploaded_images/HPIM1360-725255.jpg http://bestdocumentaries.blogspot.com/2007/08/half-ton-man-documentary.html
even IF their basal metabolism required 3000 calories per day to maintain tissue (which it doesn't) that's 30,000 excess calories each day. 30,000 excess = 8.5+ lbs of fat added EACH day. (30,000/3500) 8.5lbs X 365 days means they gain 3100+ lbs every yr. yes, U R FOS
sorry but you dont know what your taking about. people that weigh half a ton can not maintain that weight with just 3000 calories per day. it takes 12 calories to maintain one pound of body weight. there have been several people that weighed 1200lbs or more... that equals 14,400 calories just to maintain that. you telling me these people didnt have days where they splurged out and doubled that amount?? ofcourse they did.... thats how they go from 1000lbs to 1200lbs. Had you seen that second clip entirely, you would've seen Patrick's doctor stating that Patrick was eating over 14,000 calories a day just to maintain the weight.
TLC did a documentary a few years ago on some very fat people. One of them eats 33,000 calories a day. (the white bald dude) Heres the clip. http://www.livevideo.com/video/A5CAA22C7BD946BD90275FFDCF60675E/i-eat-33-000-calories-a-day.aspx And they're not even close to 1000lbs. so how about an apology?
BMR increases more slowly at heavier weights in men it's not 12 calories for additional pound after pound as you suggest. my calculations were off a bit, an 800lb man BMR is probably somewhere around 5500-6000 per day. that's only an 27,000 calories too many each day. No man can eat 33,000 as you claim, half that is still almost beyond belief LOL
heres a link to wikipedia about a guy in the UK tht was regularly eating over 29,000 calories a day.... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barry_Austin now you believe me??
