Hello Kravm, I trade equities on ISK and AF account and I live in Sweden. I have questions regarding taxes and trading under a company's account in Sweden. Can we get F-skatt as retail traders? If yes, what is the suitable firm's category for a retail trader to be registered with the tax office? Also, how does one usually arrange the payment from a prop trading firm abroad? how is it taxed in Sweden? Thanks.
Hello Kravm! May i ask you a question regarding taxation in Sweden from SPX Options trading and US stock markets using with IB. Is there any way to set up ISK with IB?
3. I currently trade via US-based Stage-5 with Dorman as the FCM and Rithmic as the data provider - do you know anyone who has a similar set up on the forums and trades from Sweden. thanks
Not sure about that one. I don“t know anyone here that use those providers. But there are really good software available for trading futures here. I have a few friends that used to trade huge size in the futures market (via the Capital Insurance structure) but they had hard time to cope with how the markets changed around 2010 or so. They came to Sweden because of the low tax on trading.
2. How are expenses incurred during the course are treated - are they tax deductible (like I can do in the UK) - my monthly fixed expenses for exchange access, trading related software comes to about $500 and about $1000/month in commissions.
Depends on what tax structure is used. If you trade via your own company, all costs are deductible. But via ISK for example, no costs are deductible (but the tax is really low anyway, insignificant really). Commissions are deductible in the company structure and also in the private account structure.
1. Swedbank seems to offer futures & options trading via ISK - are you able to comment what the situation might be if realy want to continue trading futures on the above mentioned exchanges.
I am not familiar with the Swedbank offering via ISK. But in general, no day trader here use Swedbank for any sort of trading. Swedbank mostly aim for small accounts. Nordnet, Avanza, Pareto or SEB are the banks most traders use.
I trade mostly Nordic cash equity, so I am not 100% up to date on what banks offer access to the future markets that you trade. I know that Nordnet were looking to allow trading DAX futures in ISK some time ago, I can check on the progress there.
Hello! and many thanks for taking the time answer my questions regarding tax implications for traders in Sweden. I mainly day trade (both long & short) futures contracts on CME/Eurex/ICE Europe and make a decent enough money and was considering moving to Stockholm from London. I've got a few more questions - perhaps you can answer from your experience.
Hi, sorry for the late response. Did not see you message until now. I will be happy to answer questions and help out if I can.
