Evacuation order has been given for NY. All trains into the city will be closed tomorrow. NYSE will most likely be closed. Just a heads up...

I heard otherwise, that the NYSE is open. Trains are closed as of 7pm tonight though.

No, the physical exchange would be closed, not actual trading, which is electronic. There is an evacuation order that has been given by the Mayor for the entire southern part of Manhattan, that includes the NYSE.

NYSE plans to open as usual Monday

NEW YORK (AP) — The New York Stock Exchange plans to open for trading as usual Monday, even as Hurricane Sandy barrels its way up the Atlantic.
Governor Andrew Cuomo said New York City's subways and buses will shut down Sunday evening. New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg ordered residents to evacuate some low-lying areas Sunday and said city public schools will close Monday.
But the stock exchanges expect to open for regular hours. The Nasdaq OMX Group reportedly also plans to remain open. A call to a Nasdaq spokesman was not immediately returned.
If Hurricane Sandy knocks out power for lower Manhattan, the NYSE can switch to its backup power generators for electricity. The servers that handle the exchange's transactions are housed in Mahwah, N.J.

Correct, electronic trading will be open. They have plenty of back up servers.

The New York Stock Exchange has arranged accommodations for essential staff near its lower-Manhattan headquarters, while other employees have been encouraged to work from home or alternate locations, said a person familiar with the situation.
"Everybody on Wall Street has hotels booked for essential personnel," this person said, adding that the stock exchange would need several hundred people, compared to its usual 1,000, on the floor to keep trading going.
The major exchanges and most big trading firms have alternate trading facilities if downtown Manhattan is inaccessible, but the storm's wide path may affect a number of sites in the New York metropolitan area. Authorities have warned of possible widespread power outages that could last for days.
