This thread is a challenge to the anti-TA crowd that for some strange reason(s) loves to hang out in the TA forum.
Frankly I have a hard time believing you really know what TA is.
Maybe I'm wrong.
So I have a challenge for you: give us your definition of technical analysis. To avoid rambling dissertations and to prove that you really know what you're talking about, please restrict your definition to a single sentence and 25 words or less.
In fact, I'll even spot you the first three words. Starting with "Technical analysis is", you now have up to 25 more words to finish that sentence.
Good luck, and thanks for your participation.

TA - Analysis of price and/or volume (only) to determine optimal securities entries and exits.
Oops, sorry, I'm not anti-TA, but the def still holds.

I always hear T.A. used to describe discretionary quantitative analysis of price action and sometimes volume, typically by day traders.

Sorry, that definition is incorrect.
I will post a correct definition later after we get some more input from other members.

What is TA?
Either:
1. TA is the relationship of current price to a previous price and/or indicator.
Or...
2. Something to argue about on elitetrader.com.
