Hi all, I'm new to trading and this forum so my apologies if this question is in the wrong section. I've done a search and can't find any info on this.
As I've said, I'm a new trader, using Virtual Brokers Webtrader, and I'm a bit confused by the state of my account.
My "Equity" is about where it should be, but my account info is saying I have a *negative* amount of securities, and an equivalent amount of *extra* cash.
In my positions, I see that I have two positions which have a "total qty" that is -100, settled qty = 0, and pending qt = (100). The value of the position is listed in (parenthesis), presumably to indicate a negative amount.
These securities that show negative total quantity correspond to the last ones I sold a few days ago. Can someone explain how exactly this works and what's going on?
