i have been doing a little research into the bid/ask problem and I believe I have narrowed down the problem to the backfill patch...
What I did was created a fresh Quotetracker in another directory and opened up similar windows with the same data sources as I have open in the QT i currently use with the problem. Before the patch, the bid/ask data never changes to match each other, no matter how many symbols I click on with the red push pin. In addition, the bid/ask raw data, while there is not a lot of data, is always correct.
Once I install the patch with all its files, however, I noticed the raw data time and sales window becomes messed up with regards to the bid/ask/last data. I also noticed that if the last trade in the raw data window had the same bid/ask data in it, then after the window had finished backfilling for the current symbol the bid/ask data on the portfolio window would change to match these incorrect values. So I think what is happening is quotetracker is fetching data from the last trade from the raw data time and sales window and replacing the original bid/ask data in the portfolio window, causing the error I'm having.
Now this error isn't isolated to just the penny stocks that I am using... it appears the same happens even in bigger cap companies like Costco (Ticker: COST)... so it's not a matter of the stocks being too thinly traded.
Hopefully this gives light on the problem a bit more... does you Raw Data Time and Sales window work for you Jerry (if you are using the patch and TDA data sources?)
