Russia considering tobin tax

http://online.wsj.com/article/BT-CO...119-702602.html

The two frontrunners for the EU presidency, Jean-Claude Juncker and Herman Van Rompuy, that will be decided today, both support a tobin tax

Seems like Russia is considering a tax on cross boarder currency trades, it mentions nothing about equities, options etc, let's hope it stays that way.

Geithner comes out again against the transaction tax in Congressional hearing. I could kiss the guy. Looking for a video of the statement now.

Did anyone just see the exhange with Geithner and the lady grilling him about the transaction tax, I caught the end of it, but she sounded like she was totally against it and how innnappropriate any tax would be on transactions or even fees. She asked Geithner a few times about it, and he said the administration does not support it, and it was not appropriate for our country. Thas a good sign there!!
