Quote from IanMacQuaide:
on Sierra Charts, pull up the Ergodic, and in Subgraph settings, where it shows "Do Not Draw", click on the arrow to the right, and select Bar. It'l turn it into a Histogram. I don't know how to read Ergodic yet, but I suppose, like my 5 and 34 EMA's, it could become useful.
If you do that, you will be setting both the "Signal line" and "Ergodic Oscillator" to histogram. It doesn't make any sense to have them both in histogram as they will override each other.
The reason they default to "do not draw" is because people were only using the pure Ergodic by default. The other computations were included but not set by default.
Al the "ergodic oscillator" is is the difference between the Ergodic and the Signal Line. It's exactly the same conceptually as the MACD histogram, which shows the difference between the MACD and its Signal Line.
Here is an ESZ8 chart with 16807 volume bars (ProfLogic's number) with the default Erg, Erg signal line, and Erg Oscillator (histogram).
