I'm not sure if this will work for you but I think this will be my new desktop. I don't know how many monitors this will run so maybe someone with more computer knowledge will chime in.

Dell's spec page doesn't state how many or what kind of peripheral slots on the mobo. In the past, the XPS has had only 1, pciex16 slot. That's good for 2 monitors with a dualhead video card, or perhaps 4 monitors with a quad card.
If you want to run more than 2 monitors, you should probably call Dell and ask them how many x16 slots the mobo has.

nearly became suicidal after dealing with their Indian support people. It was ENDLESS, incompetent and superficially polite. .
I had nothing but excellent support from Dell. When you verify your Dell account information, you'll gain access to customized support for your system from the moment you plug it in.

Dell is good i must say, can you imagine if a trading firm gave the same support, that will be a day ever to be seen.

Anyone want to comment on what I should buy?
Fwiw I just bought a Dell XPS 8500 desktop($1050) with a top end 2GB video card. and i7 chip, 8GB ram, 1TB HDD. I may swap in a SSD for faster startup but it's not like you turn off and on a desktop much. Startup is about a minute.
It's had very favourable user reviews:

It's a monster and runs anything I throw at it like its nothing. Streaming news, charts, videos ,browsers. Maybe 1-3% CPU usage.
For fun I tried to run 30 streaming video feeds at the same time and the CPU usage was like 5% and 3GB ram. lol
I use it to run a 30" Dell monitor($1000) with no problems. It has the ability to run multi monitors as well.
I used to just run IB TWS on a i3 laptop and the CPU usage was 50%.

I'd like to comment. What does PnL have to do with desktop choice?
