You should be directing your frustration toward CONGRESS AND THE ADMINISTRATION... THEY are the ones who have made the rules and adopted polices... they are also the ones who STOLE THE SOCIAL SECURITY TRUST FUNDS. It's CONGRESS who did you wrong... DID ALL OF US WRONG!

Check this out. The supercommittee is going to eliminate poverty and inflation with a new inflation index and ta da new poverty income guidelins. We're fretting over nothing.. pfffttt poverty "all gone". yeah.........
"In all, adopting the chained CPI would reduce Social Security benefits by $112 billion over the next decade. Federal civilian and military pensions would be $24 billion lower, according to the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office.
If adopted across the government, fewer people would be eligible for many anti-poverty programs because the poverty level also would increase at a lower rate each year. That would result in fewer people living below the official poverty line, despite having the same income."

Reading thru this thread (and many others like it in recent months), I keep getting those images in my head of EVERY single movie that's ever depicted the future as one of just complete anarchy and decay. I'm still amazed that there are people that think there is some "orderly" outcome to this shitstorm. The "kick the can" strategy ensures competitive devaluation and continued declines in the standard of living (and debatedly improves absolutely nothing). The "reset" strategy ensures anarchy, third world level crime and poverty, etc, etc...

Observation:
Remember those neighborhood flyers you find on the convenience store counters. The local 1 pagers usually filled with coupons, discounts and local news.
They've become the local crime blotters now.
50 Million impoverished leads to desperate times and crimes.
Once the homeless realize they get free room, board, cable TV and healthcare in the clink the rooms are gonna fill up fast.
