Hopefully they'll make cell phone usage much cheaper - like they did with reading on my Kindle. There are millions of books off copyright that are free with free wireless delivery.

I don't think a phone could ever be free, but you know what I mean - much cheaper than phones are now.

price is high because there is a demand for it and people are willing to spend this much money..in many countries same service,using same phone and equipment cost a fraction of what you charged in US. plus about 20-30% of the bill goes to various charges imposed by gvt.
i hope you right and this amazon thing will create some serious competition..but gvt certainly not going to like lower prices..
