Quote from peilthetraveler:

Funny how so many people think it could never happen to them. Soviet Union was our equal just 25 years ago and they collapsed.

The people of Rome thought their country would never fall too.

You know what happens when a country collapses from debt? It gets split up, just like the Soviet Union did and just like the roman empire did.

The difference being that both the SU and Rome consisted of conquered territories that were actually separate countries, with their own cultures. This is not the case with the US.
Although US could collapse if the warpath is continued and debt increases at the same rate.

Really? The US is one culture? We have more cultures here than anywhere else in the world. Do you think Hawaii would stay a state if the US collapsed? How about California? California has tons of debt now, but if it separated and the people didnt pay federal tax anymore to washington and it all stayed in state, california would be debt free and have lots of money left over.

Arizona & New Mexico & Nevada would likely separate too. If we collapsed I would say that about 60-70% of the US would try to rebuild the US and 30-40% would separate so they wouldnt be under the thumb of Washington & the Federal reserve.
