Lucrum, c'mon, updates man! Sorry just went flying for the 1st time on 15 years. I am hooked again.

I haven't accomplished much all year.

The guy who designed and built the custom engine computer discovered that he had programmed the rotor injection sequence incorrectly which he corrected.
I'm hoping that was the primary reason I could never get the engine to start.

As mention last time I'm completely redoing by fan. I froze the design only a week or so ago. A local metal fabrication company is laser cutting the fan blade blanks as we speak. When that's done they're going to fab the remaining components then I can start assembly.

My employer purchased a newer aircraft back in June. I was busier than normal from the beginning of the year working on that. And now I've got the sale of their previous jet hanging over my head. So I haven't spent nearly as much time on it as I normally would have.

I also got a little sidetracked cutting sound suppressor components for my Colt 1911 on a metal lathe.

Hopefully before years ends I'll be able to make the plane the focus of my free time again.

Thanks for the updates! I could probably buy a jet for a reasonable price, but probably couldn't fly it after that. How about a suppressor for a WWII era Walther and Luger? I'd be interested. I spent some time in my basement with a couple of configurations, but the difference was of no value. Noticeable, but not anywhere near remarkable. No reason why it would be important to silence, but just for fun.

Probably stupid to post here, but what are you looking for on your build? I have a cousin who is a genius. He has a car engine that is ridiculous parameter wise, and has a few patents that have made him a millioniare a few time over. If you are running into issues I'd be willing to pass on what you are looking for, and from what I know he is not a money guy, just enjoys what he is doing. ie he maybe able to help and could care less about getting paid. He and one of his brothers had a plane long ago. They managed to never get licenesed, never get insurance, but did manage to flip the plane, and total it.
Didn't make or break them.

We're hoping to get a mere $500,000 for the one they're selling.
But it's not a plane for amateur pilots.

I'm going all out on my first suppressor. I ordered a threaded barrel I should get in November. I bought a Nielsen device from a suppressor manufacturer.
The "can" will be 11.25" long and 2" in dia. The internals I'm machining from solid 6061 aluminum and are very similar to the best performing production models.
I have a stainless steel rod the dia. of the barrel I'm going to use to align the component holes. In theory it should be a very effective suppressor.

I'm dragging my feet on finishing any thing on it though until I get my paper work back from the BATF. Getting caught with one not approved by them is a $10K fine and 10 years in the slammer. And they're very serious about it.

Not sure I understand, the engine problems I've had?
