Good idea. To further your idea, Baron should put the "subscribing" link at the top of the thread instead of its current location (at the bottom) because many folks reading a thread will see a message post prior to reaching the bottom that they want to reply to.
Thus, they have no incentive to subscribe because that subscription is all the way at the bottom instead of at the top.
