Yes, I agree with everything, including that IB is the best. However, I prefer to be absolutely sure that what I write here will not affect my account at IB so I will keep the two user ids separate.
Let me say one last time that these endless and unnecessary changes (one new version every month) are really frustrating and they are the cause of this thread and most of our complaints.
This problem does not apply just to IB but also to Microsoft. I cannot figure out why this happens. Why do you have to keep changing a platform once the product is finished? The user has much more to gain from the platform staying the same than from having a platform that changes once a month.
With Microsoft, this applies to excel 2003 and to the operating system XP. They were fine, perfect. After doing such a nice job, they kept on perfecting what could not be improved.
Well, actually on this thought i think a little different.
IB is a serious broker, and it shines (as a one eye man, in a world of blinds) among brokers, but attempting a comparison with Microsoft, when talking about software, is more than insulting, for Microsoft, I think.
It is true that office has become worst. Win7 is a good product (and compared to XP i see it as an improvement). Visual Studio is sublime. And this is a comparison that just cannot be made.
Tws (especially if open as Mosaic) is just "unwatchable". I wont comment more or else i become very unpleasant, and these things have been said many times by many people.
Lately i use only the gateway. So i don't have to look at it and i can "talk" with the API only. There would be many things to say about the API (error messages without reference to instruments, clumsy architecture, missing fundamental properties, missing unique native .NET dll, etc.), but it would be a waste of time, as they know it all and don't listen. So let's save it for more constructive activities ...
