And you will probably be assigned to a POS doctor who barely speaks English. That assumes the state you live in will even accept you in the Medicaid plan seeing as the Supreme Court ruled they doht' have to expand the program.

Quote from ChkitOut:

if you had no income you would be forced to get on medicaid which is poor peoples fully government subsidized insurance.

welcome to the new world.

Quote from oldtime:

I just figured out how this deal works Thursday.

If I am unemployed and have no income, and can't afford health insurance, when I file I will still owe a tax. Not too bad the first year, only $90, but after ten years about $800.

Is that right? Surely, there will bo some kind of subsidy for me, right?

I don't even ever plan on going to a hospital unless I am involved in some kind of bad accident and they force me to.

It just seems like I am pretty poor and already struggling and they are hitting me a little hard.

Maybe someday they will come up with an affordable health plan for poor people.

but off topic, If I was Obama's campaign advisor, the day he got elected I would say, "Look, who is most likely to run against you in 2012? Mitt Romney. Do you want to sit here trying to make friends with GS, while he comes on the scene talking all about how he delivered health care for Mass?"

if you live 'american dream'-ie own the house it will be far more than 90$..regardless..if you have any income or not..school taxes(administrators and 'communicators' have to get their 100+K salaries, they don't give a fuck about your income),property taxes..hey..i'm still paying occupational taxes(like $5-10),even i was unemployed(and file as such) for over a decade..in my case it would be around 5+K a year..nowhere near 90$

and many more are coming soon via obamacare...

Quote from oldtime:

yeah well, I think everybody from Warren Buffet to me should be on food stamps, and not only food stamps but shelter stamps and clothing stamps.

For crying out loud, the earth is a big place and there's plenty of room to fight over the scraps, but everybody should have food, clothing and shelter.

It aint much of a fight if your opponent is starving to death.

That's what I can't figure out about you right wingers, you feel that somehow you have been harmed if the poor are helped.

You're no different than the left wingers that feel they have somehow been harmed if I buy a private jet.

I used to work in a church food giveaway program. The old guy that had run it for decades told me that 9 out of 10 people that came for food did it because it is their lifestyle to live on freebies. I got to observe some of them and I concluded that some were living better than I was if you factor in free time. I was spending a lot of time working and commuting..

If you build it they will come.

I'd say that he who will not work will not eat is a much better starting point for a culture. It's irrelevant in the current situation with regard to politics but I'd say that a culture of theft [socialism] is going to irritate God no end..

First, how does the govnt know if you're not insured? secondly, how would the IRS collect the penalty if you don't have insurance? Would they actually treat it as an unpaid tax liability and put a lien on your house or garnish your wages?
