I use AutoTrader to link Investor RT with Interactive Brokers for quick order entry via buttons, alerts, etc. Rock solid, no problems at all. It's opened up profitable new strategies that I couldn't handle with manual order entry. |

The previous poster/reviewer said it all. This is my favorite trading tool and I don't know what I would do without it. It interfaces perfectly with IB's TWS and is cross-platform. I have used it under windows and Mac OS X.
Its easy as pie and helps you stay disciplined with your trades. You can enter trades with one click market orders, by setting up both long and short OCO stop or stop limit orders, or with traditional one way stop or limit orders.
You can set up a trailing stop, regular stop and your target (take profit) price.
If you have any problems or questions the developer responds quickly and is usually available via yahoo IM.
He asks for a small donation and its worth every penny! |

I've used Ensign, Esignal, Neoticker and Autotrader. Even though the price is by far the cheapest for Autotrader I think it's much better than Ensign, Neoticker or Esignal.
Autotrader is the most versatile in that it can use a variety of data sources for playback. It can play back that data to any charting program that Interactive Brokers uses. You have more choices for the speed of the playback so you can practice a whole trading day a lot quicker. Also you can use Autotrader as your order entry platform for the playback and for real trading. Therefore the platform that you're practicing on is identical to what you use for real trading.
Jerry Sy who made Autotrader is a great guy. I sent him a donation a year ago for less than what a month of Ensign or Esignal would cost. Along with the donation I requested that he add a speed control to the playback and sure enough he actually made it. I made several feature requests to Ensign during the time that I subscribed. I didn't see any of the requests implemented but they never missed charging their monthly fee.
I hope by practicing with Autotrader I finally become consistently profitable and I'm able to send Jerry more donations for his work, I think he deserves it.
