I've used most platforms available and Hammer is by far the fastest, most stable of them all. Hotkey functionality and the API are as good as it gets. The software alone doesn't print money, but if you know how to trade it will increase your bottom line. |

This and gr8trade are the two best daytrading type execution platforms right now that I have seen and used that are available to the masses.
(there are some proprietary platforms that even make those two look like toys but I doubt that any of us have access to them)
The one thing that Hammer lacks is good charts but most traders are using qcharts or realtick charts along with it.
Anyway, having used it for a few weeks now I see what the buzz has been about.
How traders continue to trade on redi+ and the other antiquated platforms is beyond me.
It's only competition is gr8trade which is STILL waiting for open book!!!! What the hell? Again they are saying next week? ahh!!!!!
The SIAC feed seems to have cured their quote issues though. :-) |

i have been in this field for many years and have used most of the popular trading platforms - redi+, belzberg(worldco) & real tick to name a few. andovers trading platform "hammer" is by far the best i have used in regard to speed and ease of use. the amount of things you can program the hammer system do is very rare, for example you can buy 500 or 10000 bullets on a stock with one touch of a button. if you are looking for a very fast, customizable system, andover is the way to go. it is hands down the best platform for scalping. i post the bullet and hit the bid in literally 2 keystrokes. most traders have to go to a seperate bullet trading platform, make the purchase then return to your main platform to sell the stock. chances are ill beat you to it. as far as down time is concerned it is very rare for either the software or the network to be down. people wih no computer assisted trading experience can easily learn to program trade through hammer. one prime example is invisible stop loss orders.
--Hammer is designed in conjunction with traders. the platform is built to accomodate specific requests by andovers top traders. this ground up technique is what has made hammer the choice platform for licensed pros and people demanding the best technology.
