It's a fascinating field of research, but it will probably always remain theoretical.

Simplified terms, if we can travel faster than the speed of light, we can return before we left. Thus time travel...

 

My thought is, as previously mentioned, time travel does not mean time-space travel.

The meaning of time could be inferior than the meaning of time-space.

Or time does not exist, while time-space does exist. Without space, merely time could not be useful/meaningful enough.

Because of time-space, people cannot change our history due to time travel possibility/reality, nor time-space travel.
