Why I love the market.

  1. Because when you have an opinion that's wrong, you lose your money. And if your stubborn and refuse to admit you're wrong.....you can lose it all.

    I love that last part.

We'd be a much better society if more people had skin in the game every time they opened their mouths.

A perfect test for reality awareness. I fully agree with you.

  3. I love it because I was never under as much pressure to work on myself until deciding to become a trader. Trading is that profession in which character flaws are not only bad for your own personal trading results, but will be exploited by others.

  4. Love the market circa 2008 because a pigeon could make a deposit on a BMW but a stockbroker couldn't

It's been my experience that people who, "love the market" are lacking any edge. Not speaking to anyone on this thread.

I love the market because in reality...everybody is involved in it one way or another and dependent upon it...traders, investors, pension plans, services (via companies & government) we use, schools, stores and everything else because it all has a foot in the market.

I suppose it comes down to how long you been doing this, your views of the market changes, I use to think like you, now the most competition is between my ears. I think cause it is so dehumanized you never know who actually you trading against, don't matter, don't care either. I see it as competition with myself, trading as well as I can. Playing the same game each day, it is something to do, I don't play golf.
