I just wonder where I can buy some physical gold, such as a 1 oz gold bar.

I know a lot of jewelers sell physical gold, mostly old gold coins. I'm only interested in shinny 1 oz gold bar, just for the fun of it.

Should I try to get it in local store, or I can just order it online? I believe the jewelers normally sell gold coins at 15% above spot gold price.

  2. Shoot my little town has a gold shop where I bought some gold coins. They sell new 1 oz coins in addition to antique coins and silver coins. They also have small bars of both gold and silver.

You'd be surprised how many people come in wanting to buy so-called "junk" silver coins but apparently they're a thing now.

Also, there's no sales tax on PMs.

most jewelry stores have coin and philatelic departments where you can purchase

don't forget pawn shops as they can provide you with exceptional pricing IF you are purchasing enough and will continue - not simply a one time purchase

In the Marietta (atlanta) GA area, go see Cruchelow Jewelry and Loan

I just like to buy 1 new one oz gold bar, plain gold bar with maker's mark on it. Can be a special gift/present.

Do not care about old coins.

How about online order? Any experience? Thx.

  5. There are some guys in Russia selling gold bars for Bitcoins. :D

  6. I'm not sure why you're hung up about gold bars.
The American Gold Eagle 1oz coin isn't an "old coin" but recently minted, and is considered a standard unit of gold storage.

Because gold bars are better deal in terms of gold metal.

I usually buy physical gold (bars and coins) in Germany from Gold Dreams.
