Where do I find a good programmer for c# with algo experience?

  1. And also one that won't look to charge astronomical figures, and/or disappear with my money?

    Thanks.

new phd graduats from university in math and computer science, even better they need your sponsor for a visa to work. c# is nothing but another language. a good programmer can learn a new computer language quickly.

  3. Well, if you want things done remotely you'd better be prepared to manage the project yourself.

Thus, if you can logically break down the software development requirements into smaller functional units, then I would advice you to use websites like rentacoder.

In that way, the money part will be the least of your problems.

  4. Define astronomical. An unreliable script kiddie looking for some beer/pizza money will charge $100 for a whole job. An experienced professional will charge that per hour.

I've seen this over and over on the internet. People who can't program need someone else to code something for them but don't want to pay anything. As far as "disappearing with...money" I'd be more concerned with someone disappearing with my code without paying.

All that said, you can check sites such as quantcode.com. There are plenty of programmers there with the background you're looking for.

I can do it for an astronomical rate . But you have to define the project which i am almost certain you can't. And pay an upfront fee before anything gets going. I call it a nuisance fee.:)

  6. Check on google for freelancers( worldwide competition).
And as you are the one paying, you can ask everyone to submit a bid, then compare.
Nowdays, it does not need to cost much for programs.

  7. You're hired!

and I'd loved to see one.

Well, I had a good experience. Programmer knew C# very well, but on top of that he knew the program that I use to trade very well too. Can be a big advantage.
I gave him not my formulas but made up something to protect my secrets. I only needed the head and tail of the programming ( variables, parameters, declarations....) and wanted to fill in the real maths later. Once you know the structure it was not difficult to add it myself. He programmed for me three or four "indicators" that I completed myself afterwards with the real stuff. Everything worked fine except for 1 indicator. I was a bit to radical to protect my secrets and made up something that could give no result. My programmer told me that he could not finish the program because something was missing. I made up something to fill this hole and he programmed the last indicator without any additional cost.
As he had the same program for trading he could check if everything worked before he send it to me.
I paid the astronomical amount of $400 for all this stuff.
I found this programmer on internet on one of these site where you can hire somebody.

  10. Mtrader : do you have programming background for it to turn well?
I can say that the only reason I managed to get good programming done, was because I was a former software engineer but did not want to bother with programming anymore.
