As the subject says: what is the field "Status Message" in Personal Details good for? Is that the signature? If not, how to define and attach a signature to postings?
Whatever you post as your status, whether it be a trade you just made, or whatever, appears on your profile page. And when people follow you, they get notified when you update your status.
Historically, the use of signatures has been only allowed for sponsors that are currently running an advertising campaign. However, to meet the marketing needs of smaller operations on the site like book authors, system & indicator developers, niche software providers, CPAs, etc., I will soon be offering the addition of signatures as an account upgrade. The signatures may be used for the purpose of promoting whatever offering that person has. The use of images within signatures will not be allowed, because that privilege always gets abused based on other sites I've seen. The cool thing about using signatures as a marketing service is that when you update your signature at any point, the change applies to all of your past posts retroactively. So you'll be able to update your offer at any point and literally have that new offer displayed on all of your older posts. And the more posts you have, the more often users will run into them via searches, inbound links from other sites, etc. My initial thought on pricing is either to base it on a single flat monthly rate, or have the monthly cost scale depending on the number of posts the user has, since obviously there's more value to a user if he already has a ton of past posts on the site versus someone who only has 40 past posts, or versus a brand new user just starting out. Perhaps there are other pricing models that would work as well. No matter what, I think that making signatures a paid option will eliminate the whole "stealth vendor" issue by actually letting willing vendors come forth in an approved, structured way.
