I need a UPS for my home office I am setting up.

    Here are my computer specs:

    Intel i7 4790
    Asus Z97-A
    16gb ram
    Samsung SSD
    eVGA Geforce GTX760

I will have 2 computers with those specs and 6 monitors running. My modem and my laptop will also be plugged into the UPS.

I need at least a 5 min window if the power goes out and only need the modem, one computer, and one monitor to stay on for the 5 minutes.

I don't know anything about UPS' or which are best.

If someone can please recommend one that would be great.

    Thank you,
    gc

I have 2 Cyberpower battery/surge units. Each has 5 battery/surge plugs, and 5 surge only. I went for a bit of overkill probably for power, but I waited until I bought at great sale prices. I'm running 2 I7 computers, 6 monitors. I have both computers plugged in for battery backup as well as router, modem, and monitors. I use surge only outlets for non critical computer and backup drives.
APC has a tool on their website that gives you an idea of what you may need for given configurations. APC and Cyberpower both have been reliable for me over the years.

I spoke to someone at APC and they walked me through what I needed.

    Thanks!

  4. Laptop. Comes with it's own built-in UPS.

Agreed on the laptop! But you still need a power backup for your internet modem/router.

Guys, I trade on a 7 monitor set up. With 2 desktops and a lap top.

APC is the way to go.
