Super Car Investment??

Discussion in 'Trading' started by marketsurfer, Dec 4, 2014.

  1. I was recently contacted by the CEO of a U.S. based supercar company. These things are sick with 2000 HP and insane 0-60 times----- this type of investment is far from my expertise, but thought i would lend a hand since its wicked cool.

someone here may have interest in backing such a venture---- so I am putting this out there in case someone has or knows someone who might have interest in such a fascinating project. Please stay away trolls, and gonzo hate vibers.

I'm just curious what qualifications he has to be making a supercar from scratch.

  3. I was very impressed with the guy. Background with Tesla and Fisker--- I sent you an email.

I don't know anything about angel investing in this, but I would think you run a lot of risk even if he is successful, the capital requirements to build a low volume car after the R&D costs would probably mean you would get diluted away.

I saw the email and visited the site, which is why I asked the question. There's no mention of who's actually asking for the money, how much the company wants, what his qualifications are in building supercars prior to this, etc., etc.

It just seems to me that if somebody wanted an ultra-high horsepower American-built supercar, they would go straight to John Hennessey.

  6. Wow, I wasn' aware of Hennessey. Very cool, particularly the video at Cape Canaveral. I thought I sent a link to the guy behind this other company. I'll send it to you.

  7. No doubt-- i don't think it would be a money making venture, more like a hobby. surf

Yeah. it's like investing in a bar, nightclub, or restaurant. it's really more for fun. That's as good as any reason to spend money.

  9. Some of those concepts look similar to the Venom GT Baron posted. Seems like it would have a tough time competing with some of those already out there. Why not buy the venom or the new model coming out, or Veyron, lots of options...all very far out of my price range lol

  10. This is for people that already have the Veyron and or the Venom--- for lots of people, purchasing these million dollar cars is like buying a bicycle at Walmart for most. surf
