What type of trading are you doing? Options, option spreads, futures, stock? How important are good theoreticals, delta, gamma, etc.? Are you interested in charting, historical vol? What firm will you be trading through?

I would greatly appreciate if you highlight the options features available with REDI.

My impression was it's functionality mostly revolved around order book and pairs trading. Would it have the portfolio and analytical functions of say: Silexx Obsidian?

No it does not. It has a good pairs trader and provides access to equities, options and futures, if your broker has it set up that way. Not much with risk or what ifs.

I always liked redi's cob ticket.

Thanks Robert! Did you use ITG's Triton system? Any issues with ITG system?I did some research and it seems that ITG's triton system works like REDI plus. And I noticed that REDI's charting is not good. So which one is better? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

When I was a MM(AMEX), I used Actant for quoting and RediPlus for "away" orders and pairs trading. I don't trade professionally anymore. Our firm offers (For equities and options) Sterling Trader, Silexx Obsidian and soon RediPlus.

I currently have Redi as my backup platform and I do not like it at all. I think it is difficult to execute spreads in the system. Their risk analysis is poor and I find it clunky and not easy to use. Redi was originally a Goldman product, but they spun it off as a stand alone system. They are supposedly upgrading the system to be more competitive.

My main system is WEX which I like a lot. It is more expensive then Redi or Itg. Really depends on the type of trades you are doing. For me, WEX works great for spread trading with easy access and viewing of the COB (complex order book)
