No poll would capture all the options, so I am posting a general poll. Please vote for the one that matches you most closely. Personally, I am a 35% win rate, and gun for 3:1.
@uktrader2016 your first post is really a fire starter . With a single post, I'm assuming that you are not aware of the many unique characters on here. As you read this, they are sharpening their posting skills, ready for all out attack . Welcome to the one and only ET!.
@uktrader2016 why only two options? why not leave one option, the 3rd, opened for those who wish to help your survey but won't fit into your narrow scope? such as....
I disagree with some others, this quite an interesting poll. Are you more suited to trend following, or mean reversion / relative value trading? Do you prefer positive or negative skew? Would you rather be long or short gamma? Would you prefer buying insurance, or selling it? Assuming of course you can get a positive expectancy on both options. GAT
do not mean to upset you or your plan, but why do you wish to limit your profit to only 3 to 1, any logical or statistical substantiation, or just some very experiensed and profitable traders said so in whatever forms....? just asking for your thoughts and reasons in your wanting to box yourself in to certain limitations. like saying ok, i'll get out when i make my 2 grands for today? pls do not feel like you have to respond ok? am just tossing out my limited thoughts, alright? it is a good starting question. do not let anyone stopping you from going forward, K? best trading wishes.
my hit rate is 100% My max loss is 100% my risk to reward is 1:infinity took me a long time to get to the point where I could trade so small that I would never HAVE to take a loss again. I trade everyday, multiple positions, always adding both to winners and losers. I very rarely take a profit or a loss. When the market makes me an offer I just can't refuse (or I start running out of money) I get flat. And start all over again.
Costs Adjusted, Currently 50% for 2:1 The market isn't that generous. But we tend to understand each other. Looking to increase my R:R Let's see for my P(Gain). From Exploratory Bets 1. Grow your Gains Otherwise 2. Cover your Costs Otherwise 3. Limit your Losses Ps: Voted for 35% and 3:1 Because that's where I'd tend to lie. Ideally, Strategically as well as Empirically.
yes, you certainly are the man of many centuries. and i humbly pay homeage to yours, whataever they are, or whatever strategies you employ.... care to elaborate a little for those who are still struggling toward much less than 100%....? no, not interested in your statements or whatever, that is too nosey and too invading.... how about just show us a snap shot of your trading screen, live or sim, it does not matter at all? am sure there are many here would like to at least admire your super superlative contraptions. thx in advance for your enlightenment and generosity as well.
