DBPhoenix is a controversial forum member, some people think he adds value to ET, others think the opposite. What is your opinion on his educational threads, of which he has started many on ET.
It won't be a shock as to what I voted, but your giving the guy his own poll implies that there is even general discussion as to whether he adds value at all - that it's actually up for debate. Personally, it reminds me of the Hershey cult - with the notable exception that Hershey's followers at least made some sense. If you're going to make a poll about dbphoenix, at least make it entertaining!
Personally I think this guy should be banned, he craps all over the place and together with his acolytes he discourages every meaningful contribution of others on this site. Not to mention his constant trolling in P&R.
Don't get me wrong, I think he's....well, I'm only allowed 10,000 characters per post and that's not enough to detail what I think of the "man". But I don't think people should be banned into silence. Think of it this way, the amount of time he spends on the internet (this forum alone has him here pretty much every day and night) does more harm to him than anyone could ever do.
Ive read some of his work, he is polite, and offers his techniques or some of his techniques for free. I see nothing wrong with what he teaches, you either like it or you don't but still a good contributor to the board. Would you rather have TA discussions or back and forth quarrels between members? I think the world has enough anger and hate to come to a trading board and read more of the same, I prefer the trading discussions any day of the week.
The poll by the way is flawed. Db himself states that observation and testing are necessary and reading alone doesn't turn one into a successful trader. By that definition almost any book without practice is likely to fall short of the tall order of becoming a profitable trader.
I don't really think he's claiming these are *his* methods. It's not exactly rocket science to consider trends and AMT. Those alone won't necessarily make someone profitable - but they'll lead a step in the right direction if the trading style/mentality/theory is compatible with the trader.
Actually this is all more about the P&R Forum than about my threads. What's ironic is that Ditch keeps drawing attention to me. If he'd just leave it alone, it would all die down. Educational Resources isn't exactly a happnin' place. (And we reached 4450 after all )
