Options Trades For Capital Growth

Discussion in 'Options' started by Quest2016, Feb 1, 2016.

  1. Hi traders,

I am new on this forum, but not new to trading. I want to use this thread to showcase the result of trading approach developed to grow a shoestring budget with Option trades.

I want to experiment how long it will take to initiate 20 option trades with at least 50% minimum ROI per trade.

All Option trades will be posted as soon as orders are filled. I may also post screenshots of the account....

    Market: U.S. Equities and Options

Risk per trade: 0.16 on $1.00 or 0.25 - 0.30 on every trade that cost between $1.80 and $3.50.

Maximum duration per trade: 2 Days

    Available capital: $3,700.00

    Let the trades begin.

  2. More power to you. I hope you accomplish your goal. -- Eager to see o_O

Do you plan to compound that? Do you plan to use all of your account on a trade, or a significant amount of it?
...that interface looks familiar...is that TradeKing?

I like trading journals but going by the stats, this is going to be a short one, and probably not more than 3 trades posted... Prove me wrong, OP!!!

I have been messing with options lately, so I am interested....

  5. I will put 2.5K from the available cash into the first trade and set a stop limit at 0.25 below the cost basis. Subsequent trades may be different.

Yeah, account is maintained with TradeKing.

Are you trying to use SPY options? Plenty of opportunities in the last few days. We can't wait for the first trade...

Here, I will show you how to do it, this is what I have been tinkering with, 7 trades 6 winners, just like you wanted 30-50% returns...

  9. Stop of .25? You might get stopped out just on a bid/ask spread or intraday fluctuation...

IMO ....... You can't use stops on option trades. The initial risk should be the stop. Options are so volatile you could close a trade at a 50% loss only to see it rebound the next day.
