Have been working on a new trading floor concept with a few other NYC based traders. We feel there should be an office alternative to simply trading in your house/apt or finding a private serviced office with a small group of other traders. The idea is to create a large open trading floor (think 50-60 people) where you use your own capital, strategies, platforms, hardware, etc., get to rent out a desk by the month and trade. Your usual office amenities will be included as well as back office support, fast and stable fiber internet, and we'll host an occasional talk/seminar. You'll also get to be part of a great physical trading community, with shared research, market insights, and ideas. Just want to get some thoughts and feedback.
In a similar thread someone linked to an existing office that had space for traders. They found it on craigslist. Cannot find thread at the moment.
New Jersey is the place to be. If Goldman Sachs went to Jersey City, I think New Jersey is good enough for most individual traders.
