Hello, I´m thinking of getting NinjaTrader as my platform and keep using IB as my broker. I´m experimenting with the platform and to me it´s incredible.
I´ve already used TWS and Sierra, but from what I´ve seen Ninja is much better.
I also plan to hire the Kinetick as my data feed.
Since I only trade ES and NQ, I figured my cost will be $995,00(buying the Platform)+$46/month(CME E-mini)+ $1/month(Globex Non-Pro Level 1 data).
Am I missing something? I´d like to see opinions off people who already use this and from other who use other platforms to know what problems are common with the platform, the data feed or the association with IB+Ninja Platform. Thanks!

    Your probably missing a lot.

If you are not running C# based ATS, there are so many free platforms provided by futures brokers with much better functionality than Ninjatrader. However, NT8 may be catching up with these.

I know that C# is some kind of program language, but that´s basicaly it(yeah, I´m that ignorant in this subject)... Could you recommend some site that would be most appropriate to read about it and understand what you just told me?

And, if you´d be so kind, could you name some of these brokers that offer these better platforms for free? Thanks for the answer again!

Use free ib datafeed and no exchange fees with nunjatrader instead of kinetick.

Check out AMP and their free offerings. From your lack of platform knowledge, you (as well as I) would benefit greatly from having such a big selection of free platforms.

Also, don't shy away from XTrader even if it has a higher fee added to the commissions. If your a mainly a chartist, it migt not be a good fit. However, that is a professional grade platform which provides a lot of versatility with your strategies. They will probably sunset the product soon to keep plebs back in the dark.

I thought of that, but one of the main reasons I thought of Ninja was that I want to use volume charts and when I used Sierra, they were always telling me that the data feed from IB is very troublesome, especially if you're using it to build volume or tick charts. And that it is probably true, because when I plotted the charts with IB's data and Sierra's real time data, the difference between that charts was grotesc. Besides that, I've asked IB and they said their data isn't really real time(tick by tick), is more like a "sequence os snapshots" taken every few seconds.

    Thanks! I'll look into that.

Ninja + Kinetick + Ib is the combo that we use for auto trading. Very happy with it.

Ninja is a fantastic platform that is very cheap. We bought life time multi broker license.

Few caveats about this combo. We using kinetick instead of Ib feed due to the fact that IB aggregates ticks every 200 mili seconds while kinetick is unfiltered.

make sure that you use IB gateway and not TWS, if you have automation. TWS requires daily logoff.

Ninja needs to be bounces once a day if kinetick is used. If left running kinetick somehow stops working after 2 days or so.

The costumer service of AMP suggested Multi Charts or Sierra for me with the TTNET Data feed. But, from what I´ve seen, Ninja is better then Multicharts. Multicharts I simply don´t know to have an opinion about.
