Hello all, I'm in the market for a mobile trading solution. While I would have enjoyed setting up a permanent office with larger screens, that is not an option at the moment. I will only be daytrading one single instrument, so I do think I can manage using two screens. The solution I'm leaning on is the Lenovo Yoga Ideapad 2 with i3 or i5, 8 GB RAM and 256 GB SSD. For a screen, I planned using a Lenovo 14" portable LCD: http://shop.lenovo.com/SEUILibrary/...?hide_menu_area=true&GroupID=460&Code=T52DEEU Thoughts or suggestions? Thanks in advance.
I will be using hard wired at home, but wi-fi, with a back-up solution, at my local university library. Initially, I was planning on going for a "15 or 17", but in the store, I absolutely fell in love with the Lenovo Yoga 13". I've had a Asus Zenbook for a few years and I'm spoiled with regards to the mobility. A 15" or 17" is simply a lot more to carry, both in weight and size. So, I'm hoping that this solution can work, although it is of course always better with larger screens (to a certain extent). I was too late to the shop yesterday, so I haven't bought anything, but I think I will be going for this solution unless anyone got better suggestions.
I went from a 17" laptop to a 15" Lenovo Ideapad last year....I don't care what they say, I miss those 2 inches.
I own a Lenovo (fairly recent, albeit not for trading) and it is the best laptop made, (used to be IBM thinkpad, which was the best on the market) and the Chinese managed to keep the quality the same....
It looks like a very nice set-up, but it's even smaller than 13", right? And more expensive? I hear you there, man. Good to know. I think Lenovo are good computers.
Have you considered the Lenovo Lavie laptop? It is by far the lighest 13" laptop on the market. It makes Apple's look fat and heavy http://www.cnet.com/products/lenovo-lavie-z-hz550/
Hello, I bought the Lenovo Yoga 2 13.3" with i5 yesterday. So far, so good. I haven't yet bought a screen, but I think I will go for the 14" Lenovo LCD, unless anyone got anything else to suggest.
I will most likely be returning the Yoga 2. So far, I'd say it's a piece of sh*t. - Very loud fan just from basic surfing with IE. At worst, it's like a jet engine. Bringing this to a public library would be disrespecful, if not illegal. - It's slow just with basic suring in IE and no other programs open. - Writing this post, the printing of the letters actually lag my touches. I spent more money than I initially planned and was expecting to get a great computer, but this is completely unacceptable. Not sure what my replacement will be.
