I know nobody uses a laptop anymore, but I do and I need a new one with a 15.6 screen. not looking for the best price, or even the fastest, just one with good quality
thanks, my last three have been Toshiba. The first one was excellent, but it crapped out in the middle of a trade, and I rushed to staples and bought a new one, same brand, but it was no way near the quality of the first one. When the second one broke a hinge on the lid I just went to their website and bought the cheapest one they had, a refurbished. I loaded it up with my ib trading screen and put it away for a spare. Finally the hinge on #2 got so bad I pulled out the #3 spare. I've been using that for the last 3 months and it has some kind of problem with the pointer. So I'm back on #2 with the broken hinge, and think I may be done with Toshiba. I have bought many desktops from dell, but finally quit due to customer service. I'll google Lenovo T and get back to you if I have any questions. Do you have any recent experience with dell laptop quality?
How do you figure no one uses a laptop? What if you go on vacation and you want to trade? Anyway, Asus is a good laptop..
a laptop is a laptop, a computer is a computer. -- don't overthink what brand to get so much....after a week or two, you won't care so much. search Amazon, good selection and reviews. Better yet, scan eBay for something used -- that's where I got my current desktop PC. you can get much more computer/performance by buying a used desktop computer.
There's a difference between business class laptops and for home/vacation use. It's hard to explain the subtleties if you are not doing business on the road a lot. Really silly stuff ( or so it would seem). Case ruggedness, but still classy (like a mullet). Location and availability of ports for when you really need to plug everything. A good support site with driver availability/compatibility. Turn around time for parts when its on warranty. Availability of parts when its not. Availability of docking, charging, case options etc etc. Trading is a serious business requiring a serious hardware platform. Otherwise, just get the best price-to-performance you can get. It's all made in China. And if it's not. that's just un-American.
...That's an Intel i3 processor...kind of weak/old...get atleast an i5. and i personally prefer/use Windows 7...not a fan of Win8...feels like using a cellphone OS. and 1366x768 resolution is on the low end...everything will look all scrunched up. . get something that has more pixels.
