Just let go!

  1. Successful trading is letting go of all the fears and expectations you have of what the trade will do.

All you have to do when you see your edge is put on a trade and let it take its path.

Have no emotional attachment to the trade no matter what it does. For when you get to this emotional state you will become a successful trader.

By the way, practice this in all aspects of your everyday life.

    Good luck!

  2. It looks like someone has done their 10 days www.dhamma.org successfully.
    Very well done. :)

  3. have never taken any meditation courses but have dabbled in meditation over 20 years. my road to profitable trading just came from years of trading practice, knowing emotional attachment to anything is what holds you back, once you are able to let it go, there is no fear, no expectation hence you accept any result. all you have to do is cut your losses and let your winners run.

  4. just shows that all the meditation thing leads to the same road : equanimity. :)

  5. yes it does!

but one also has to work diligently in the beginning to remember to let go, not to hold to become comfortable with uncertainty and having fear, but with enough practice you become comfortable with the negative physical sensations that hold you back.

    one must meditate.

    - you posted in Feb 2011, presumably before you let go.

What have been your results during the last 18 months?

  7. 163% return in 2013.

    See your edge.

    Trade it.

Let the trade go where it wants.

    Some will win.

    Some will lose.

You know what to do next.

Quite. In theory it shouldn't be that hard to win at trading, and yet most traders just seem to be able to do whatever it takes to be wrong. It's all in the mind, mastering the demon within. http://www.myforexdot.org.uk/psychology-of-trading.html

One of the best 'one liners' regarding trading that I've heard is "never be afraid to take a small loss".

Makes so much sense doesn't it? But just try doing it in practice. ;)
