Jimmy John Prepares For IPO

Discussion in 'Stocks' started by marketsurfer, May 27, 2015.

  1. This is nearly a guaranteed loser--- we are preparing to short this dawg soon after the IPO when able--- terrible hoagies often stale buns. I can't even believe they grew so fast having such subpar products.

I don't like this company, if you can't tell!

I've always liked Jimmy Johns...definitely get your food faster than at Subway. Had one in my college town that sold their leftover buns after 4pm for like 25 cents each....great for a poor student.

  3. They're packed every day around here. It's good food fast. I think you need a psycho analysis. Year after year you and your posts seem to degenerate more and more. The content you contribute to this site has become absolutely worthless.

Surf you're doing it again. If everybody and their grandmother is planning to short this the second shares become available to borrow than you can guarantee how this is going to go.

  5. are you related to dennis gartman? because you're a good indicator of what not to do

Talk about being late to the game. They should have built the buzz years ago. Nothing comes close to Pot Bellies PBPB for product, ambience and value. Unfortunately, the stock tanked but I don't see it as a value play. The folksy charm may have won over the city folks, but it's just another sandwhich shop in the country. Possibly, overbuilt.

Watch out for a Taiwanese sandwich shop. I hear they are lining up for it in London. However, they really have to go from flagship stores to IPO really fast atfer creating a marketing buzz like Shake Shak.

  7. Subway has a superior product and thats not
"Freaky fast" delivery also of one sandwich. Think that's sustainable? This dawg is finished before it even starts.

    Surf,
Ones opinion of a food product can get in the way of facts.
Bad hoagies, bad buns, no matter.
What are the statistics, sales, same stores figures etc?
Your simpleton analysis comes across as emotional, not factual

JJs delivers freaky fast, very convenient, easy online orders.
Perhaps read the S-1 first, learn the facts and figures
What is the ROI for a franchisee?

  9. Agree with Xand and Surf. Nothing exciting about JJ's products. Potbelly is much better. The stores in Chicago are typically swarmed at lunch. Less true in NYC though, where there's more competition.

  10. Yes, that's true but its a great starting point. I get many ideas by just observing the world. Theres much more to the economy than just numbers-- although they are critical. I have a pretty good sense of business and what I have seen, the idea is unsustainable in the current environment. Could i be wrong? Sure. But im planning on betting against it

    Do you like JJ hoagies?
