I like the idea. I'm just trying to figure out if I should create a new forum or just rename and redescribe the Chit Chat forum.

Make Chit Chat a sub forum in Lifestyles. Chit chat can be a catch all for things that don't really float well in lifestyles. The world is changing very fast and there're a lot of new interesting things going on that are relevant to people's everyday lives. Chit chat as it stands demeans their importance. Medical developments, tech products, personal finance, travel etc. Random examples that I believe would have potential value to people but would get lost in chit chat:

Informational content like these would soon be lost in chit chat.

Grat idea in the coummuntiy lounge. we can all hang out and have a few drinks and get to know each other. Don't forget about books. we all learn from books fiction adn non fiction. it could also have a self improvement section or motivation or something like that

Hello baron, I see beside your avatar that it says "ET Founder" Forgive my ignorance but if you in fact are the founder a big congratulations on creating a hardcore trading forum. Hardcore may not be the proper wording but a forum for serious traders then.
I ask that you create another forum not introduce more topics to this one non trading. Think of it as indicators and add ons to price that everyone thinks is necessary to trade better.
I may be missing the OP point but I for one come here for trading related posts. The last thing I want to do is scan through new chit chat posts to get to trading related. Can anyone second this ?

I can. You are apparently new so you wouldn't know about this. But with the old ET, the New Posts were indicated by an icon by each new post at each forum, rather than the way it is now with the mishmash of forum posts at the New Posts tab. And it was so much better that way.

Now it is like looking for one book (forum/topic), finding it, reading a sentence, then looking for another book, finding it, reading a sentence, then finding the first book again then reading the next sentence .... All while trying to skip over the books you don't want to spend time on. It's doable but less than optimal. And it gives you a headache and is far less satisfying in the end.

All that needs to be done is to add back that by-forum new-post feature now. Then everyone can choose the New Posts tab or the new posts by-forum method and all will be good again--for everyone.

It's been suggested before but the powers-that-be have thus far been reluctant to do this but maybe that will be reconsidered with these proposed new forum additions.
