INTJ, not surprised and usually score this over the years. @loyek590 would probably also be an INTJ if not for all that weed he smokes.

  5. I've known I am an INTJ for decades now. This site is loaded with INTJs and is probably the main reason there are so many stubbornly held views on here. INTJs have a difficult time admitting they are wrong...I'm o.k. with that. What I don't like is the ones who constantly tell everyone else they are the ones who are wrong. Other types can fit this as well, especially thinking (analytical) types. It's never enough to be right...everyone must know you are right! INTJs are known as the masterminds and are great at strategy and planning...perfect fit for the capital markets. I've studied Myers-Briggs for a long time and can usually "type" a person within minutes of meeting. Something I learned a long time ago about many INTJs and why they may struggle with trading. It's been published many times that INTJs are the most socially awkward of all the types and even resemble autism more than any type. Human emotion and relationships (especially opposite sex) are difficult for them because they try to make sense of emotion logically. Logic alone isn't going to make a relationship succeed...intuition,instinct, feelings, compassion etc. You can't read books only and be good at a new sport...developing instinct and intuition will be required. In my opinion and with my experience, I believe trading is both art and science (just like a woman and sports) and will be too difficult for most INTJs who focus only on data, math and logic. Yes...there may be exceptions to this...some of you may succeed on math only in options or arbitrage. I don't trade this way(only futures). The majority of you can't be succeeding with math only. In my youth I thought I was an xSxP type for many reasons...chasing women, sports, fighting, weightlifting, racing cars... I have to say playing sports and learning competitive tactics has helped me with trading significantly. I agree with the thousands of hours of screen time theory. One last idea. Are you the kind of person who asks for instructions immediately when trying something new? If you acquire a new package and upon opening...do you immediately seek the instructions? My whole life whenever I open a new package I immediately try to assemble the contents intuitively...can't help it. Sometimes I find a dead end and give in, but I've been trading since 1994 and can say that creating my own "instructions" has been the greatest factor in success! Just seems too many come to ET and ask "how is one supposed to trade". If your not succeeding, try looking at trading like your the first person in history to look at a chart (or whatever) and you have to figure it out for the rest of us. As far as I know...nobody trades like I do. I have negative or equal R:R on all methods...don't use s/r or trend lines...I like high win rate methods (when they don't work there's a reason)...I watch volatility closely on the ES DOM and the VIX to determine what method to use out of half a dozen or so methods...never use classic T/A...developed my own indicators...do use some geometry..I never try to DETERMINE IF MARKET IS TRENDING OR RANGING/CHOP. I hear that one all the time from traders. I would go crazy figuring that out on each trade. I try not to think/say in absolutes...like my way is the only way and yours is stupid! Some of you INTJs should try this!

what's the difference between INT and INF?

Thinking vs feeling basically. That being said, I myself probably vary between INFJ and INTJ depending on context and need, and I'm sure many others do as well. Not everything is rigid and requiring of an ultra-detailed over-thought approach. I was just giving you shit anyway :)

One interesting thing is that while there may be many INT/FJs here I bet we all trade differently. Some are also more okay with uncertainty than others.

  8. INT means more analytical in your decisions. INF is more subjective and considers the person or the circumstance in decisions. T=thinking F=feeling.

Somehow I'm having trouble reconciling an INTJ type with a name like BONECRUSHER but I know it's not the first time you've been messed with for that name :D

  10. Totally agree. Our past can determine our ability to handle uncertainty. We've all been raised differently and our parents are different types and thus parent differently.
