This is almost like being on the field. You can see the Pats corner, Brandon Browner I believe, jam the WR on the line hard which disrupts the timing of the play. He can't get in front of Butler who is able to make a play on the ball. Basically the Pats were more physical. I don't have a problem with the ball placement. Some commentators have said Wilson should have thrown it more back shoulder, but that is the kind of ball that gets tipped up in the air. A bigger WR probably would have had a better chance of making the play. Still, I have watched games all year and seen that play run dozens of times and never an INT. You have to hand it to the Pats two corners.
It may have been a narcissistic move on Pete Carroll's part. It seems that he wants people to think of him as a football rebel genius. And it totally backfired. He took the opportunity to showcase himself and surprise the Pats by throwing a slant over the middle...you don't surprise the Patriots you punch them in the mouth with a guy named Beast Mode who could get a yard while he is sleeping.
I've heard the Seahawks wanted Russell to be the hero instead of Lynch. Bad choice. Handed the game to New England on a silver platter. A cheap win for the Patriots. I wouldn't be too proud of winning a game like that.
